Sony Bravia lives up to it's expectations with respect to picture quality and sound quality. No complaints over there. I have a Tata Sky HD box with HD channels delivering excellent quality pictures and sound. For the normal SD channels the picture quality is clearly degraded as you see a a lot of pixel and a bit of blurry quality pictures. I would highly recommend to watch HD channels to enjoy the true value of your Sony Bravia TV. A major disappointment is the IR Blaster though. The setup is simple but doesn't work seamlessly when just using the TV remote instead of the Tata Sky remote, which ideally is suppose to be the main feature of the IR Blaster. Switching channels with the help of the TV remote works perfectly only when you key in the channel number. However, the Guide button on the remote lists the channels and when you select one of the channel and click the View button, it doesn't exactly go to that particular channel number and keys in an additional digit in between. For eg. If I select channel number 454 and click View it will key in 4554 which eventually turns out to be an invalid channel number and does not switch over to that particular channel. Then you will have to go back to that TV screen and manually key in 454 and it works as expected. This to me was a major disappointment. Not that it does not have a workaround but would have expected it to work seamlessly hence, reducing the stars in the rating. Another major feature is the Voice Search which works sometimes and sometimes just doesn't pick up what you are saying inspite of showing it as Listening.... The channel surf with respect to the Voice Search also has the same problem as mentioned above. To change the channel just keep the voice search button pressed and say Channel 454. It behaves the same way as mentioned above and punches in an invalid channel number like 4554. This again is a bit of disappointment. I have all my wires concealed and even the set top box and hence rely majorly on the IR Blaster to function correctly. Except for the disappointment of the IR Blaster, I think the TV overall is good, watching online streaming on Netflix, Amazon Video is more enjoyable given the picture quality. I would have given this a 5 star rating had the IR Blaster and Voice Search worked seamlessly.
